Day 2: Herbed Biscuits

Moving along on this little challenge of making all the recipes in Martha Stewart’s Baking Handbook, Recipe #2 was Herbed Biscuits, which was a variation of the Baking Soda Biscuits. The variation was to throw some fresh herbs in the original recipe, so I chose rosemary and basil. It was National Spaghetti Day, so I served these as a stand-in for the garlic bread. Everyone was a fan except Bizi and even she changed her mind once they were paired with the spaghetti.

(If you’re wondering what in the world I’m talking about, see the first post in this challenge here.)

I was lucky enough to have a really good helper on this recipe, as you can see here. I apologize for the grainy pics - she moves fast.

The only problem with our little project was that it may have taken a little longer this way. The butter got a little too warm and we ended up with slouchy biscuits that all leaned a little bit.

I have to say, I much prefer the extra help and the slumped-over biscuits. Sorry, Martha.
